They are just as fun as I hoped they would be! The package came with a 4oz bottle of pink, and a 4oz bottle of blue. I didn’t open the “Presto Pink” Zubbles yet, though I did open the “Blazing Blue”. Many others are clearly shown on the site – just not for sale yet…
The zubble soap is very, very dark in the bottle. You can see where a few drops spilled in the photo below. But the color vanishes as soon as you rub it away. The bottle’s lid’s rim is a bit leaky sometimes which would not be obvious except for the dark color.

And in the air they look blue as can be, just as the hype said!

Blue Zubbles in Action
They were “very expensive” I’ll just say, but I’m so happy that they are finally on the market that I plunked down my dollars so I could get my greedy hands on them.
And they are whimsical fun – if you like soap bubbles! I will take them tomorrow and let my Pre-K Sunday School kids mess around with them.
I’ve been watching this product called Zubbles with half an eye, since about 2005, because bubbles are one of the whimiscal things I find fascinating and dear.
FINALLY they have come to market, with a “Buy” button and everything. ( Thanks to Elly and Natalie for pointing them out to me. )
So, of course, I hit aforementioned Buy button. They cost at least an arm, if not an additional leg. The story is that the inventor spent $3 million developing them!
Further updates as Zubbles warrant. Hopefully with photos!
I feel pretty gleeful at the moment. Tonight is craft night, so hopefully I will have more art to post later.
Ok, Vengeance is not really anything I aspire toward. Respect, world domination, ultimate power, sure. Not really revenge. But today. Today I have a problem.
My co-workers have randomly thrown out the little carton of half-n-half that I keep in the fridge to use in my coffee for the last time. They will pay, oh yes, they will…
What scheme can I use to keep the creamer from being destroyed against my wishes?
Give me your best and/or craziest ideas!
Speaking of crazy ideas, I say, by way of bad segue, I am enjoying a podcast called “The Gearheart” – it is sort of an arcane-steampunk genre, which is “all the rage” http://www.thegearheart.com/
I also just signed up to sell stock photography at http://clustershot.com/glimmerville
This was from the 4th of July. It really didn’t taste bad, but the presentation…

This instantly reminds me of James Lileks great books on “Regrettable Food” such as this one. (Amazon link )
But you can tool around for a long time on his website, looking at his goofy collection of… things… in the “Institue of Official Cheer”: http://lileks.com/institute/index.html
We pause to bring you: giant anthro chili cheese dog.

I hate my job.
I told everyone I was going to blog about Twitter apps, but I was interrupted by chocolate.
I don’t know if anyone else has done this and coined the phrase but I was bored, and had adorably star shaped marshmallows, and decided I would make S’mores. But since I had no graham crackers, I used an Oreo. It turned out to be made of awesome.
First, I had these little cute star shaped red, white & blue marshmallows. Through trial and error I found that a good “S’moreo” only needs one.

Are they not cute?
Second, I put a chunk of Hershey’s milk chocolate, with a star-marshmallow, into a properly opened Oreo chocolate sandwich cookie. By “properly opened” I mean you must twist it so that half the cream is on either side. I just like it that way best. I know countless millions have heaped shame on me for this.

Properly Loaded Oreo
Put the S’moreo into the microwave on High for about 10 seconds, or until the marshmallow FWOOMPs into a poof. (To use a technical term.)

FWOOMP!
Jam the top half of the cookie on, and eat it all in one bite so it doesn’t glop tasty ooze all over you.

Yum-o.
Repeat!
And I’ll post about the Twitter apps soon.
I have not been sleeping well lately. I wouldn’t call it insomnia, but I have been waking up in the night, for no apparent reason. I can usually turn over and fall back to sleep, but not sleeping the night through is new and annoying to me.
I have still been dreaming, though. One theory of mine is that waking in the night makes your dreams more vivid and memorable. So far this has not really been the case. My dreams have been as indistinct as ever, and even less memorable than some.
But last night I dreamed that I was posting a poem to this blog. I have no idea why.
And I am not posting a poem to this blog, so it wasn’t prophetic.
Dreams and dreaming fascinates me. I would have, in the past, said I was ”pretty good at remembering my dreams” but that was before I met many friends who are excellent at both remembering and influencing their dreams via lucidity. Lucidity eludes me; at least, it eludes me 99% of the time.
If you are interested in lucidity I suggest checking out lucidity.com Your results may vary. From my own experiences with it, I have decided that really trying to improve your dream recall takes as much concentrated effort and time as anything else in life that you are trying to improve, so be forewarned. I do not really keep a journal, though I usually write it down if I have a truly interesting dream.
I do not put any stock in dream “meanings” since I know that most of the time the things I dream about are the things I have encountered during the day mixed with fantasy adventure. If I see a dragon in a dream it’s not going to be a metaphor for something I have to battle – because I really like dragons. And flying is not necessarily escaping anything, it’s just how I prefer to move.
Feel free to recount any dreams, hints on better dreaming, jounalling ideas, etc. in comments. And if you want more information and links, let me know that too.
I have decided I’m going to try to post more art here (as you can see from this week) even when I can’t come up with any great text to go with it (which is often).
I went (as chaperone) to a youth Bible conference yesterday – I’ll give a synopsis later. It was extremely convicting. We even (without planning) had the same message in church today! (Romans 12:1-2)
But for now I’ll just post some silly art. You will have noticed by now that if I’m not actually making an effort, everything I sketch ends up facing the same way. (And starting at the right since I’m left handed.)
